Matt Damon ’signs’ for Atletico Madrid just like Boston Red Sox

Atletico Madrid on Wednesday unveiled their latest big summer ’signing’ — the Hollywood star Matt Damon.

Matt Damon, in the Spanish capital to promote his new film ‘Jason Bourne’, was presented with a shirt of the Champions League finalists by club president Enrique Cerezo, a respected film producer, complete with Damon’s name on the back.

Damon, 45, said Atletico ‘remind me of my favourite team, the Boston Red Sox’, the baseball team whose colours are also red and white.

‘It’s our summer signing, joining next week, fresh from the US,’ joked Cerezo, who has similarly ’signed’ in the past movie stars Harrison Ford, Halle Berry and Samuel L. Jackson.

Golf honours

Playoffs were the order of the day in both Ottawa Valley Golf Association men’s A and B championships at Sand Point Golf Club. After posting identical 54-hole scores of one-under-par 211, Kurtis Barkley of Cedar Glen avenged his playoff loss in 2015, by edging Ryan Sevigny, a Golf Quebec public player, on the second hole for the men’s A title. Denis Tremblay of Smiths Falls defeated public player Bernard Ng for the men’s B crown, following identical 36-hole scores of 20-over-par 160. Bonnie Wolff of Carleton Golf and Yacht captured her seventh women’s championship, shooting 77-78-155. Джон Кехо Киев в Украине
