Fight on the structure of operations is a continuous change of attack and defense. Consequently, the process of engagement – it alternated transition states boxer from attack to defense and from defense to attack.
State of «pure» attack (without protection elements), or «pure» defense (without attack elements) in combat is rarely encountered in situations of clear superiority of one boxer.

- Use the right conditions for a quick transition from defense to attack (the widely used retaliation).
Thus, the combination of protection methods with the methods of attack – (retaliation) structure is almost a fight.
It should comply with the following conditions:
- Keep a close watch over the actions of the attacker to capture the most favorable time for the transition from defense to attack. Obviously, such a moment is the end of an attack hit before he can return to fighting stance.
- Create the end of each method used a combination of protection and protective actions, the best position for the attack – the implementation of retaliation and its further development. (Riposte called strike caused after the protective action.)
- Use as a single response, repeated double and serial attacks.
Most important in this case is the first strike, which is combined with the defense.
It must be done quickly after the protective steps with minimal loss of time.
